Blog 5 - Free Topic: My experience creating OCs (English 3)

Hello everyone! In this last blog with free topic, I going to talk about my experience created OCs.

I going to star with the next question, what is an OC? Well, OC is an acronym that it means “Original Character”. In all my time as otaku (fan of anime and manga) I have seen a great variety of OCs about every anime (or manga) that I have seen, even they create a world with their OCs.


In my case, when I started to have friends at my school, I used them as inspiration to draw characters in my sketchbook. Time passed and with it my imagination and drawing style. Today I can say that I have my OCs in some anime and my own world of fantasy with elves, mermaids, hybrids, fauns and other creature. When I do all this, I feel like a mangaka (actually, I start a comic about me inside “Pokemon sword” using my experience playing this game) because all my feelings are in these OCs and all these OCs are representation about my family, my friends and myself.


For example, this is my latest creation of OCs, they are based in my best friends, my teacher at my high school and me, all involved in the world of "Naruto".


If you want to start drawing your OCs, the advice that I can give you are:

  • Keep calm, when you think that you are sure who or what draw, just doing.
  • Don’t worry if your drawing isn’t perfect or beautiful, the most important is express your feelings and thinks.
  • And the most important, in my opinion, just enjoy all the process of created a OC.

This is my experience created OCs, in my opinion if I hadn’t seen anime in my TV during my adolescence, I wouldn’t have started drawing and later created my own OCs. Well, I want to know what do you think about this?

    Hello, those are really helpful tips for someone who wants to start creating OCs. I'm not really versed in the world of anime and manga but I've seen the term used also in the world of fanfiction to include new characters to the universe where the action takes place in the story, it really blows my mind with the creativity of the people out there.

    Hi! I really like your drawing style, I can see that you have a lot of fun drawing, I also like to draw, but lately I haven't had time due to college. Thank you very much for your advice, very soon I will start drawing again and this could help me to find my own style.

    sounds very interesting, I don't really watch anime but it sounds very relaxing to create OC, without a doubt there are no limits when creating a character

    Hi, I always wanted to start drawing, i think your style is very good and thakiu for the tips, I think maybe on the summer I will start drawing seriously for maybe some day create my own manga

Hello everyone, today I going to tell you about why I think religion is important in people’s lives. In first instance, in my opinion, the religion is a lifestyle where people search get rid of bad decision or maybe a psychology trauma by its family.
